Electrothermical simulation of the microwave heating of PVC at 2.45 GHz
Résumé et principaux résultats
An electrothermical simulation has been performed to study the temporal behaviour of the dielectric loss microwave heating of PVC at 2.45 GHz. Commercial tools have been coupled to perform both electromagnetic and thermal simulation (CST Microwave Studio and FLUENT) requiring the development of macros to optimize an iterative procedure between the codes. A microwave applicator has been developed in order to enable thermographic measurements of the PVC sample during the time of the microwave heating. Comparison between calculation and experiment is presented and discussed.
