Prediction of fan trailing edge noise

Résumé et principaux résultats

Paper presented at Fan Noise 2007, Lyon 17-19 September 2007.
This paper presents results of a research program that aims at predicting fan blade trailing-edge noise. The prediction is made using an analytical model deduced from an extended Amiet's formulation. The model is applied on a two-blade 800-mm axial flow fan without casing. The input data to the model, which are the spectrum and spanwise correlation length scale of the wall pressure fluctuations on the blade suction side close to the trailing edge, are measured. A comparison of the measured and predicted far-field sound pressure spectra for two blade pitch angles shows the validity of the model.
